Welcome to the Nocturnal Embrace's vampire community. If you wish to know more about the community and its aims I would advise that you pay a visit to the 'About Us' thread in the News and Announcements forum. This is not what this post is to be about, although I will be talking about some of my motivations in creating this community. But mainly, I would just like to post a brief introduction to myself here for those who are interested in knowing more about the person who wishes to start and nurture this small community.
My name is Valentine Dubois and I am a 23 year old woman from Australia. I wasn't born here; I am an English/Swedish hybrid who did far too much travelling when she was growing up and has since been cursed with an endlessly wandering nature. Which is how I ended up here on the other side of the world. I have to say though that I absolutely love it here.
I identify myself as pranic or energy vampire, although unlike many psi-vamps I have difficulty feeding at distance and rely very much on physical touch to connect with a persons energy field. I do occasionally have the need to feed on blood, but this is usually only when I am extremely run down and I do not tend to class myself as a full hybrid, and certainly not as a sanguine vampire. I feed on energy - emotional mainly, and occasionally tantric.
I have been aware of my nature since my mid-teens but have only recently, in the past couple of years, really come to terms with it and worked out how to deal with and accept it as part of myself. I have been in and out of the vampire community over the years, with varying names each time, but have found it difficult to 'connect' with any particular group. Too many years on my own seems to have had something of an effect on my ability to blend with the communities.
I have started Nocturnal Embraces as a venture of my own to try and create a home both for myself and others on the net, and encourage the participation of other vampires who share mine or similar views. I have noticed a lot of bickering within some of the vampire communities, and a strong tendency to jump on new members who dare to suggest anything other than what the majority for the group believes in, and feel that such communities can sometimes offer an intimidating presence towards newly awakening vampires. I am aware that not all communities are like that, and indeed have the deepest respect for many of them. However, my aim is to provide an area that is separate from these larger communities for newly awakening vampires, where they might be encourage to discover and explore their natures in a secure, friendly and open minded environment within a community that has not been around long enough to form such strong impressions as to who can be a vampire and who can't.
I would also be interested in working closely with other pranic vampires who 'click' with me, or who hold inspirational and highly motivated ideas who would be interested in the forming of a new vampire house. Ideally I would like to do this with Australian based vampires, but I am open to this being an online and/or global venture if that is where the interest comes from.
I would like, once again, to welcome you to the Nocturnal Embraces forums. And I wish with all my heart to hear from new members as time goes on. Welcome to the community, and we are glad to have you within our halls.
